Advocacy

As  Special Education Advocates we will assist parents with understanding and participating in the special education process. The following items will give you an idea of how we might be able to assist your family. We can work in  an advisory role for you behind the scenes, or you may choose to have us be much more involved in obtaining, maintaining, and monitoring your child’s special education services.

We provide special education consultation and advocacy services for supporting families to access quality services, including the following:

• Initial Consultation
• Analysis of your child’s educational strengths and needs
• IEP review and recommendations.
• Review of current educational services and programs (under IDEA and 504 Plans).
• Attendance at IEP/504 Plan meeting.
• Coaching on advocacy tips for special education services.
• Advocate for evidence-based programs and instructional practices.
• Related services, such as assistive technology and augmentative communication systems.
• Supplementary aids and services necessary to achieve educational benefit.
• A detailed action plan
• Positive behavioral intervention & supports and functional behavioral assessments.
